Underclassman Spotlight: Craig Morrissey

For this issue’s underclassman spotlight, The Crusader talked to Craig Morrissey, a sophomore who is heavily involved in the house system, extracurricular activities, and sports. Morrissey has played soccer for the past two years, was a freshman house captain for Quiroga last year, and is a sophomore house captain this year.

The Crusader spoke with Morrissey to get more information about his Moeller experience so far.

Crusader: How has your experience been at Moeller the past two years?

Morrissey: My experience so far at Moeller has been more than I ever thought it would be. When I first walked through those doors, I thought I had a good understanding of what it was going to be like because my brother had graduated a few years prior. I soon realized that every person has a different experience in high school, and it’s what you make of it. Once I realized that, I started to get more involved around the school, signing up for more things, talking to new people, and trying things I have never done before. I’d have to say Moeller was the right choice for high school for me.

Crusader: Have you taken anything away from your experience last year as a house captain?

Morrissey: Some things I have taken away from being a house captain is the ability to have a voice around the house and make decisions that impact how the house runs. I’ve also taken away being a better person to the people around me.

Crusader: What is it like being part of such a great soccer program?

Morrissey: It is really special being in such a great soccer program even though I was on JVB. The friendships and being able to watch the team go on tournament runs all the way to the state finals has been great. The people that I have met, and the coaches help you develop to the next level.

Crusader: What do you want to accomplish in the next few years at Moeller?

Morrissey: The things I want to accomplish over the next few years at Moeller are to keep my grades up and meet more great people that I haven’t had a chance to meet yet. I think the next two years at Moeller will be even better than the previous two years. I feel I have a really good foundation to be able to do these things over the next two years at Moeller.

Moeller is thrilled to have Craig and wishes him a successful career here! Thanks for taking the time to talk with The Crusader!
