The Trinity Shamrocks won 20-19 over Zaragoza in the house basketball final on Tuesday, February 20th.

The two teams’ rosters were loaded with top talents like Preston Smith, Drew Currin, and more. Trinity’s Head Coach Alex Kazanecki said, “The team is good, and we played like a team. This [win] is what I expected from them, nothing less. We teach success, and that’s what we did on the court today. I’m proud of the boys; they brought the ship home!”

Zaragoza Head Coach Kingston Land took the loss in stride, saying “The guys played their butts off all tournament! Making it all the way to the finals isn’t easy. The guys played great, and I’m proud of them.”

Trinity ended house basketball with a 4-1-1 record, and Zaragoza went 4-2. As the overall winner, Trinity will receive six house points, adding to their bid for the Marianist Cup this year. The Shamrocks are on a roll right now—can they keep the streak alive with upcoming events??

To close out the house basketball season, the afternoon assembly ended with the annual faculty versus students game. It was another close one, but unfortunately, the students did not come out on top this year, losing 20-17 in overtime.
