Art Student Profile: Nick Jones
Moeller High School has an outstanding art program that helps students develop their artistic abilities. Moeller’s art program can develop students into artists who are able to produce outstanding work. Although Moeller only requires students to complete one year of the art program before graduating, a good percentage of students take art all four years. Many students who take four years of art decide to declare an art major in college.
The Crusader interviewed art student Nick Jones to learn more about his experience in the art program. Jones has taken two years of art including the classes of digital design and studio art and design.
Crusader: How many years of art have you taken throughout your Moeller Career?
Jones: Although I have only taken two years of art, I took a digital design course my senior year that helped form my ideas for what I want to do in college.
Crusader: So, what are your plans for college?
Jones: I plan to attend UC for the architecture program, which is heavily design based. It is one of the best programs at UC, and I feel the art program here has prepared me well.
Crusader: What would you say is special about the art program?
Jones: For me, it is the guidance that the students receive from the teachers. This is not just me—the teachers focus on all students because these art teachers want the best for each one of their students and want each one to succeed. They truly want your artwork to improve throughout your time at Moeller.
Crusader: In your opinion, what is the best piece of art you have created?
Jones: My best piece of art came this year in my digital design class. This was basically a magazine cover of Joe Burrow. The reason it is my favorite is because I love the Bengals, and this artwork is just special to me.
Crusader: What is your favorite art class you have taken at Moeller?
Jones: My favorite art class has been digital design, which I am currently taking this year. It is a wonderful class that is preparing me well for what I want to do in the future.
Crusader: Lastly, what is your favorite art style?
Jones: My favorite style has to be simplistic, but with creative and unique designs implemented into the art piece.
Thank you, Nick, for giving us your time and sharing your experience with Moeller Art. We wish you the best of luck at UC!
