Desmon Gault Jr.
My name is Desmon Gault Jr., and I am originally from Loveland, Ohio, though I moved to Colerain, Ohio during my junior year. I come from a family of four—my dad is from Griffin, Georgia, and my mom is from Goshen, Ohio. Growing up, fishing has always been a big part of my life. I love the thrill of setting the hook and hearing the drag squeak, the line screaming as a big bass, catfish, or carp runs, or the excitement of a bass crushing a topwater bait. I enjoy the subtle tick of a jig bite just as much as the crushing strike on a big bait, like a paddle tail or glide bait. Spending time on the water with my family and friends has taught me patience, focus, and a deep appreciation for nature.
I’ve always enjoyed working with my hands and figuring out how things work, which inspired me to pursue a career in HVAC after high school. I’m drawn to work that challenges me, teaches me new skills, and helps people in their daily lives.
As I look forward to my senior year, I expect a lot of adventure, more quality time with family and friends, building strong relationships, fishing as much as possible, and maybe even finding ways to make money while fishing. Growing up in a family with roots in both the South and the North has given me the best of both worlds when it comes to food—I get to enjoy Southern flavors from my dad and Northern favorites from my mom. I want to make the most of my last year of high school, create lasting memories, and set myself up for success in the next chapter of my life.
