CCP at Moeller: A Great Opportunity
Many people are unfamiliar with College Credit Plus (CCP) courses at Moeller; however, it could be just the kind of class you’re looking for.
CCP is Ohio’s system for dual enrollment, which give high school students the opportunity to take college level courses for college credit whilst still being in high school. The purpose of our CCP program at Moeller is to provide a new type of challenging class that will better prepare students for the rigor of college. Currently, Moeller has partnerships with University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati State for these classes.
For a student to earn college credit taking one of the CCP courses, he must register for the CCP program through the Ohio Department of Education and be accepted as a student by University of Cincinnati or Cincinnati State. This may seem like a difficult and long process; however, it should not discourage you from taking one of these great courses. If you are interested in enrolling for CCP courses, you should speak with your counselor for important information on deadlines and application materials.

After talking to Moeller Senior Noah Honsaker, he advised how useful the classes are and how much he has enjoyed them. Noah is a student with a ton of experience with CCP courses, given that he has taken all six of the Information Technology and Business CCP classes. Getting all this experience at the college level while being in high school will provide Noah a huge advantage moving on in the future. Noah further talked about how these courses range in difficulty; however, most people come in with a similar foundation of knowledge and everyone is able to excel.
The classes also may better prepare you for college and your future depending on where you want to go for college and what you want to major in. Noah wants to go to University of Cincinnati and major somewhere in the IT field, which is why he took advantage of taking the Information and Technology CCP courses at Moeller. Noah’s last comment was discussing how the courses are going to give him money off college as well as start him with many credits, setting him up greatly for college.
In conclusion, college credit plus courses at Moeller are a great way to challenge yourself, prepare you for college, and save tuition money. If you’re interested in this opportunity, talk to your counselor for more information.
