New Pillar Counselor: Allison Oakley
Pillar House has a new counselor this year: Allison Oakley.
Counselors are a big part of Moeller, especially when it comes to mental health. Moeller’s counselors are always there for students no matter the issue. If you ever have a question about your schedule, college or even just want someone to talk to, you can meet with your counselor.
The Crusader sat down with Mrs. Oakley to get to know her a little better.
The Crusader: What did you do before Moeller?
Mrs. Oakley: I went to University of Cincinnati and got an undergrad degree in communications. I then worked in athletics and got my master’s degree at West Virginia in marketing. After that, I went back and worked in alumni relations at UC. Then later I got my counselors degree in 2021. I was a school counselor at West Clermont High School. I was also in contact with Moeller by volunteering at the Marianist Life program here at Moeller every other Wednesday.
The Crusader: What was it that stuck out to you the most about Moeller?
Mrs. Oakley: The first thing that comes to mind is how Moeller supports their students academically, spiritually, and emotionally. Moeller educates and supports the students as a whole person. Moeller is a very strong academic school with a huge community aspect to it. I like how the students feel supported to reach their full potential.
The Crusader: How do you hope to help the Pillar students and other people at this school?
Mrs. Oakley: I want to be an advocate for all the Pillar students and always be there for them in all aspects, whether that be on helping them with education or their mental health. I want to be there for them on their first day of freshman year all throughout their senior year.
The Crusader: What do you like about Moeller so far?
Mrs. Oakley: I really enjoy the spectrum of MoeGate and all the students’ school spirit. Everyone here is very proud to be a part of Moeller, and it makes me honored to be part of this community.
Mrs. Oakley is a great addition to the Moeller community. We are very excited to welcome Mrs. Oakley as the new Pillar House counselor and wish her a great year!
