Campus Ministry Kickoff

The start of the school year brings with it the return of Campus Ministry activities. There are many ways to get involved around Moeller right now.

Marianist L.I.F.E. had their first meeting on August 23rd, and it was a big success. L.I.F.E. stands for Living in Faith Experience, and that’s exactly what the juniors and seniors from Moeller and Mount Notre Dame do. Some of the seniors from both schools also went on the summer L.I.F.E. retreat with students from all over the country. Moeller senior Cooper Ralston said, “I met tons of new people from all over the country including Nebraska, St. Louis, and Puerto Rico. I grew in faith with my Moeller brothers and other students from various Marianist schools.” Cooper and four other Moeller seniors went to Dayton for the retreat and had nothing but high phrase for it and for our own L.I.F.E. groups here at Moeller.

Another exciting event is the Kairos retreats during the school year. Kairos is the senior retreat and is often referred to as alumni’s favorite part of Moeller. The first one takes place next week, from September 5-8, with around 50 seniors going. The first Junior Retreat also just ended, and it was a great success. There is another Junior Retreat and Kairos happening in the fall, so definitely sign up! Our first all school mass was also a great success, and with many more to come, signing up to be a liturgical minister can be a fulfilling new opportunity for anyone interested.

Applications for Little Buddies and YPC are also out now. Little Buddies is open for juniors and seniors this year. Members of Little Buddies will travel to Coryville Catholic once a month on a late arrival day to spend time with some of the young students. Participating all year grants you all the service hours you need for the year, even seniors! YPC (Youth Philanthropy Council), and St. Vincent de Paul are open to all grade levels and are great service opportunities. In YPC, members get the opportunity to give out grants to students who have an idea to better the community of Moeller.

If you have some free time in your schedule, or are looking to give back and get service hours, be sure to check out all these exciting opportunities in Campus Ministry!
