Moe Raffle Exceeds Goal

The Fall Raffle officially ended September 18th. The raffle raised over $460,000, which is significantly above the school’s goal of $400,000.

This money goes directly to tuition assistance, which helps many students afford the cost of tuition at Moeller. The money raised from the MoeRaffle is essential for our school and community because over 52% of the students at Moeller get some sort of financial aid. The more money the school raises in the raffle, the more tuition assistance that can be provided.

Obviously, it would be hard to get students to sell tickets without incentives, so there are many different things that students can win. First are the early bird specials. Every student who sold at least $75 by the early bird deadline won a free Currito meal card. Additionally, one student with over 75$ in sales won a 75 Chick-Fil-A gift card—that’s a lot of Chick-Fil-A!!! Another big prize goes to one random purchaser of over $100 who will win two free tickets to an Ohio State vs. Notre Dame football game on Saturday, September 23 in South Bend.

But wait—there is more: two students with 75$ or more win tickets to the Texans-Bengals game on November 12th!!

The fall raffle is also the only way for students to have a guaranteed single parking spot for the following school year. Every year, more and more students earn their parking passes through the fall raffle, but this year, the threshold for this incentive increased to $1500 from $1000. Needless to say, many students set their goals on earning that parking spot and many achieved it! The full list of incentives is below:

Besides the student incentives, there is much pride and competition between the houses and mentor groups. The house with the most money raised this year was Zaragoza with $83,000. Zaragoza also received 100% participation from every single student in the house. Pillar and Quiroga were close behind with over $78,000 each. Zaragoza also had the highest selling mentor group. This honor was held by Coach Poke’s mentor group who raised over $16,600, a full $500 in front of the next mentor group.

The last incentives are for the whole school. If the student participation is 90% or more, Moller will have no school the day after the Super Bowl 2024 and also the upperclassmen will have no school on Prom day. Congratulations for all those who have won incentives and a big thank you to anyone who has donated for the cause.
