New Teacher Profile: Mr. Gettings, Math Department

One of Moeller’s newest teachers is Mr. Gettings, who teaches geometry and pre-calculus.

Mr. Gettings has had plenty of experience when it comes to teaching. He previously taught at Fischer Catholic High School outside of Columbus for two year and at Cardinal Pacelli Elementary for five. He has taught almost every math class that is offered at the high school level and is bringing his experience in geometry and pre-calculus to Moeller.

Mr. Gettings had an unusual route to teaching, as he didn’t major in education but instead majored in psychology and minored in mathematics. He began teaching and continues to do so because he says he wants to help his students “find joy in math.” While Mr. Gettings understands it is hard to convince high school kids to enjoy math, he does so with how he teaches. He is an energetic, uplifting, and fun teacher who brings lots of excitement and energy to each of his classes. This passion to help students find joy in math will help each and every student excel in their own way. He is committed to helping make his students the best they can be in their daily lives, all while teaching them quality math.

Outside of school, Mr. Gettings is very active. Some of his hobbies include participating in sports such as soccer and volleyball, as well as riding bikes with his wife.

Mr. Gettings is an amazing addition to the Moeller family. Welcome to the Moeller family, and we hope you have a great year!
