National Honor Society Induction Ceremony

On March 3rd, Moeller High School held its annual National Honor Society Induction. Newly inducted students and returning NHS members came together to celebrate this achievement. Every student received a certificate of accomplishment for being in NHS, and they also received a Moeller "M" emblem. Another very important part of the ceremony was that seniors received their cords to be worn at graduation.

Throughout this ceremony, there were many speakers from Moeller's National Honor Society Leaders.

  • Faculty Leader: Mr. Shannon

  • Moeller's Dean of Academics: Dr. Brookbank

  • Moeller Student Leaders:

    • Ethan Hawryschuk, NHS President

    • Dominic Bosco, NHS Vice President

    • Tanner Coe, NHS Secretary

Hawryschuk, Bosco, and Coe helped lead the school and members of NHS to new heights this year. Together, people looked at the numerous activities that NHS held this year, including a spike ball tournament fundraiser for juniors and seniors, a "Keep Going 25 Chipotle Fundraiser, and hosting a guest speaker.

The last very important moment of this ceremony was the presentation of Moeller's 2024-2025 NHS Captains. Three new members of Moeller's 2025 class were chosen to be the new NHS Leaders. The following three new leaders were announced:

  • Emmet Pease, President

  • David Antaki, Vice President

  • Michael Samoya, Secretary

Together, these three will bring about even greater accomplishments, and they will lead Moeller High School's National Honor Society to amazing feats next year.

The Crusader sat down with the newly elected president and vice president of Moeller's National Honor Society.

The Crusader: What does NHS mean to you?

Pease: It is a community for people to come together that values academics and want to become leaders within the school.

Antaki: It means an opportunity to stand out among others and serve others in my community. I want to help others become leaders and stronger in their academics.

The Crusader: Why did you want to become a leader for NHS?

Pease: I saw the impact of the current leaders. I liked their vision, and I wanted to continue the growth of this meaningful impact from this society. I wanted to keep doing things like the Keep Going Fundraiser and Spikeball Tournament while also maximizing new efforts.

Antaki: I like to jump at every opportunity to be a leader and help others. I love to serve others and set a good example.

The Crusader: What are your goals for NHS for next year?

Pease: We want to bring in more guest speakers and become more involved in tutoring.

Antaki: Keep everything that has been going on this year including the Keep Going Fundraiser and Spikeball Tournament while also searching for new opportunities.

If interested in becoming a member of the National Honor Society, look out for applications next year in your emails or talk to Mr. Shannon!

The Crusader thanks Moeller's National Honor Society for everything they have done and continue to do and wish the members the best of luck. Thank you to Emmet Pease and David Antaki for speaking with The Crusader!
