Class of 2028

With the 23-24 school year coming to a close, Moeller has begun taking students for the upcoming freshman class of 2028. Just one day after the opening of enrollment, Moeller had to begin placing potential students on a wait list, as the school quickly reached the maximum number of students capable of being accepted on the current Moeller campus.

As Mr. Shaffer told The Crusader, the main challenge the school now faces is having enough teachers and space for all the incoming students. This is a far cry from past years of enrollment that followed Covid when the school worried about the total number of new students failing to exceed 850. These worries came along with the restrictions and quarantine that Covid necessitated, and many schools suffered from declining enrollments.

Thankfully due to diligent work by the faculty and staff in conjunction with the government, the CDC, and of course the Archdiocese, Moeller has recovered from those years and is now posting strong enrollment numbers once again. After the reopening, Moeller was able to begin work on several projects over the course of a few years; the school added a new football locker room, then completed a new parking lot, and is now finishing up a new auditorium as well. And, of course, the Innovation Hub is currently underway, with completion on track for early 2025 (with some parts usable by fall of this year). This new wing of the school building will help accommodate our incoming class, which will be the largest in recent years with 257 new Men of Moeller entering our doors next fall.

This is good news, as the administration needs to accommodate this large incoming class and space is definitely a challenge. Next year, Moeller’s student population will exceed 950 students for the first time ever, but luckily with the addition of the Innovation Hub, this problem will seemingly be mitigated relatively soon.

The growth of Moeller’s student base seems only to be limited by the physical size of the campus.
