Chmiel Mentor Group
Mr. Chmiel’s mentor group is a perfect example of the Moeller brotherhood and the values of Moeller. Brotherhood, this is the most renowned thing people say about Moeller. Most people experience this through sports and other clubs and teams, but what if your not on those? The Moeller brotherhood is not just felt in sports but also in the mentor groups and houses they are in. In the Chmiel mentor group brotherhood is what everyone feels. Everyone in this mentor group is valued and cared for. Even thought the main role that most people look at, mentor group captain, is taken by Callen Lay, we still have roles for others. Noah spivery is the spirit captain and he encourages people to participate in spirit events and to have more spirit for our house. We also have Isaiah Holland who is the king of feasts and he helps organize the feasts we have occasionally and who is getting donuts each Friday. We also have Aidan Voss who is the scribe and is in charge of getting forms fille out and Erik Brown as treasurer who in charge of grub day money and getting money for the PS5. There is also the phone checker, Holden Raines, who is in charge of making sure everyone puts their phone up. We play board games, basketball, spike ball or the PS5 and no one is excluded. Everyone has a equal shot at playing games and everyone is welcome to join in. Even though we don’t have the biggest room we still make games work. We have a mini basketball hoop and people play basketball which is very fun to watch. We also only have a spike ball, but our mentor group improvised and played spike ball with a desk instead of a net. Our mentor group also has many board games to play and we also all came together to get a PS5 to replace our old Xbox. For the PS5 we got UFC 5 and that has been a hit. The fights are fun to watch and always cause pandemonium. We also have feasts once a quarter. There are when everyone in the mentor group brings is a food item centered around a theme like tacos or breakfast and we have a huge feast in the commons. Even though we have a lot of fun within our mentor group we also have a strong emphasis on faith. During prayer service and other discussion based activities we take them serious. Moellers values are build the family, hold the door, and earn the shield. In the Chmiel mentor group all of these are valued. The family is built by including everyone and truly embracing the Moeller brotherhood. Hold the door is shown by the service and how faith is valued by everyone in the mentor group. Everyone earns the shield by embracing the other Moeller values and doing much more.
