Moeller Gets a Strike at the Bowling Spirit Event
By Henry Meyer
On December 1st, the Moeller Bowling Team had their first spirit event of the year. Moeller spirit events are a time to go out and support our Moeller teams and get hyped for our student athletes.
Very quickly near the start of the game, students began to pour in to support the team and provide their insights to people who didn’t fully understand the game. “Bowling is truly a mental sport,” said Senior Axel Carlstrand, “they say bowling is 90% mental and 10% physical.”
During the game, a large crowd of Moeller students formed to help cheer on their classmates, and they were highly supportive of the whole team. This wasn’t lost on the team, “I feel like everyone had fun and it was great to see everyone come out,” varsity bowler Tyler Jones said. “I would be bowling, and I would see everyone eating and cheering us on.”
The event wasn’t all just the game. Everyone who attended also enjoyed the concessions there. There was a large pizza for everyone who attended, and others indulged in foods that they purchased.
Throughout the game, everyone continued to encourage the players and were excited whenever they saw a big play. “The crowd was singing; the tunes were bumping,” said Senior Keegan Todd, “but I didn’t let that bother me because the Moeller Varsity team was playing with grit and compassion, so I didn’t care about any of the noise.”
At the end of the game, the Moeller bowling team showed their appreciation to everyone for showing up. “It’s really great to have a bowling spirit event since we haven’t had one in a long while,” said Jones. By the end of the spirit event, everyone had a great time cheering on the Moeller Brothers during the event.
