Moeller Bowling Season in Review
Moeller’s bowling season has come to a close. This has been the most successful year for the bowling team since before the 2018-2019 season, posting an overall record of 7-12.
Although the team had a highly successful season, Moeller Bowling did not qualify for the OHSSA District Tournament. Two seniors who stood out were Baiden Gallo and Dominic Kwiatkowski. Gallo averaged 200.5 pins with a high of 244, and Kwiatkowski averaged 199.1 and a high of 269. Both these seniors were able to earn second all GCL Team Honors. Due to the immense effort by these two seniors, Moeller Bowling was able to propel up this year and will continue to improve next year.
The Crusader talked with Senior Dominic Kwiatkowski about his thoughts on the season as a whole. Kwiatkowski said, “The season was actually kind of a success. We improved a lot in comparison to last year. The ending could have been better. After the new year, we started off really hot. We were rolling the ball very well. Pins were falling. But the last two matches and sectionals, we fell apart. It wasn’t the ending we were looking for, but the season overall was a success.”
On being awarded the second all GCL team honor, Kwiatkowski said, “It’s a high honor to be named to the second team. Last year, I was awarded first team, so it was a little disappointing to be placed on the second team. But it was harder to be awarded the honor this year because there were eight players to a team [last year] and this year there were only seven. Last year I had a pin average of 184 and this year I had an average of 199, so there was a lot of improvement from me.”
The Moeller Bowling Team came a long way. With excellent bowling from the seniors, the team was able to have its most successful season in a long time. Next season, the roster will be almost completely changed with all the senior bowlers leaving. However, don’t be shocked if Moeller Bowling makes a run for the GCL title next year!
