Moeller Baseball Top in the Country

Moeller Baseball is looking to replicate its amazing 2023 season and is on track to do so.

Moeller Baseball finished 31-3 last year, winning the GCL as well as securing the program’s ninth state title, knocking off Olentangy Orange. The team was ranked top five in the country by MaxPreps once the season was said and done. The team graduated 12 key athletes in 2023, all of whom have continued their baseball careers in college at schools like Ohio State, the United States Air Force Academy, and the University of Cincinnati.

Forest Day 24’

The 2024 Moeller squad is already following in the footsteps of last year’s super team. Moeller is yet again nationally ranked top ten, and not by luck. The team has been preparing for the season since November of 2023, even though their season doesn’t officially start until spring. The team has been weightlifting and doing field work to perfect its craft. Even with graduating senior talent, there are a lot of returning stars. These stars include Kellan Klosterman, David Hagen, Zion Theophilus, Carter Christenson, and Luke Pappano, all who are committed to play college ball for Power 5 teams. These returning players contributed greatly to the success of the state championship team a year ago.

Senior Forest Day talked with The Crusader about what to expect from Moeller Baseball this upcoming season.

Crusader: How is the dynamic of the team going to change after graduating 12 seniors?

Forest: I think that the team is close, since working out so much together throughout the fall. On the field, there already is a lot of experience on the team. We learned a lot from the graduating class and take notes from them. We are ready to take the next step on the field.

Crusader: What are the expectations for this season?

Forest: The expectations don’t change. It is the same as last year. We expect the outcome of last year with success in the playoffs. But we can’t look too far ahead; rather, we must focus game by game.

Best of luck to the baseball team as it continues to prepare for the spring season!
