Moeller Lacrosse Starts Tough Schedule with a Win
Moeller Lacrosse opened their season with a big win against South Oldham at home on Friday, March 15th, followed by a loss to Olentangy Liberty the next day.
The Moeller Lacrosse team will be challenged this year by playing arguably the hardest schedule in the Midwest. This includes Culver Academy (IN), ranked first in the country; Western Reserve Academy, ranked at 23; Mary Institute and Saint Louis Country Day (MO); Kiski Prep (PA); Shady Side Academy (PA); and Upper Arlington High School.
Moeller Lacrosse is led by three senior captains: Ryan Miller, Bo Hegarty, and Brennen Hickey. Alongside those three, Moeller has strong leadership coming from both the upper and underclassmen.
There are several promising underclassmen to keep your eye on: Nolan Kittle (So), Christian Rivard (So), Jackson Morris (Fr), Jake Grote (So), Brayden Emerson (So), Brady Newlin (So), and Simon Klaber (Fr).
The Crusader talked with both Nolan Kittle (So) and Jackson Morris (Fr) about their thoughts as the season gets underway.
The Crusader: What are you looking forward to most for this season?
Kittle: I am looking forward to growing as a player, so I can ultimately play at the next level. I am looking forward to growing as a team and to achieving our goal of a state championship.
Morris: [I’m looking forward] to making new friends, growing as a team, and making it out of the region.
The Crusader also talked with Seniors Ryan Miller, Bryson Davidson, Talan DeBruler, and Noah Smith.
The Crusader: What do you hope to achieve with this being your last season?
Miller: Win a state championship and beat X.
Davidson: To end the season with a state title.
DeBruler: Beat X and get to play for a state championship and win.
Smith: Make a push for state and beat X.
