Moeller Track and Field: 2024 GCL Champions

The Moeller Track and Field team recently started their post season with a win in the GCL Meet on Thursday. The varsity team heads to the district meet on May 15th and May 17th at Mason High School.

The track and field team had a great 2024 regular season with five meet wins. The varsity team had wins at the La Salle Legends Classic, Elder Skyline Open, Colerain Invitational, Monroe HS Invitational, and the Mason Rod Russell Invitational. The team was led by upperclassmen Richard Obioha, Drew Robinson, Micah Rice, Gavin Barry, and Jacob Herzog.

The track team has had top ranked times in different events in the Mason and Winton Woods District. Junior Micah Rice is ranked number one in the 400m, with a time of 49.26 seconds, which he achieved at the Colerain Invitational. The 4x200m team is also ranked number one in the district with a time of 1:28.63, which was also achieved at the Colerain Invitational. Junior Gavin Barry is also ranked number one in the 110m and 300m hurdles in the GCL South. In field events, Senior Richard Obioha is ranked number one in the GCL for discus and shot put, with Freshmen David Bradley and Teague Boland number one in the GCL for the long jump and high jump respectively.
