Moeller Baseball: Best in Nation
The Moeller Baseball Team has been on a season long winning streak, with just three regular season games to go before OHSAA State Playoffs begin on May 16th.
The boys have faced some of the top teams in the state of Ohio, as well playing the number one team from Michigan, pulling out an 8-5 win. That win secured Moeller Baseball the number one spot in Ohio and the number five spot in the nation.
Another big win for the team came when they met Olentangy Orange, who they played in the state championship final game last season. The team won 2-0, retaining their perfect season record. They also finished first in the GCL.
Head Coach Tim Held ’97, who recently won his 400th game with Moeller Baseball, emphasized what this year’s team can do saying, “We can hit in big moments and pitch in big moments and come in with those big-time plays.” Coach Held went on to point out that the team has worked incredibly hard to earn the strong position they are in as they head to the playoffs. The team has its sights set on back-to-back state titles. Junior Jovan Love said the team is “enthusiastic but also very focused on the goal ahead and working hard to become the best team we can possibly be.”
The Crusaders will take on Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy at Kremchek Stadium on Friday, May 10th at 5pm. Come out and support the boys as they prepare for a second run at state!
