Student Athlete Spotlight: Eli Jacon-Duffy
Eli Jacon- Duffy is a two-sport athlete who is committed to play football for Bowling Green State University. Jacon-Duffy plays football and rugby for the Moeller Crusaders and was a three-year varsity tight end and team captain this year. In rugby, Jacon-Duffy plays the position of back and serves as the captain of the team. The Crusader got to sit down with Jacon-Duffy and ask him some questions.
The Crusader: What are you planning to do in college?
Jacon-Duffy: I’m attending Bowling Green State University. I want to major in pre-med while playing football.
The Crusader: What were your personal feelings on this year’s football season?
Jacon-Duffy: I think the season went pretty well, but it didn’t turn out how we all wanted. Coming up short in the final four for the third year in a row was tough; it was hard to believe that it happened that many times. I believe if we would have played Ed’s again in the state championship, we would have come out victorious.
The Crusader: Since you are in rugby season right now, what are your personal thoughts on this season?
Jacon-Duffy: I think for all of us it’s disappointing losing to our rivals for the first time. We want to finish the season strong and hopefully improve in our final two games before the playoffs. Overall, we are a strong team that just needs to improve before we start the post-season. I’m glad that I get to enjoy these final weeks with my friends on the field before I leave for college.
We want to thank Eli for the interview and wish him the best luck in his future and best of luck to the Moeller Rugby team.
