Indoor Track State Results
After finishing an impressive regular season, the Moeller indoor track team had a lot of momentum going into the state championship this past weekend at Spire Academy in Cleveland, Ohio. Dana Walker, Christian Stewart, Gavin Barry, Jackson Butler, Trey Webb, Landen Adams, Owen Speed, and Camden Pawlick qualified to participate in this last meet of the season, and they did not disappoint. This was not surprising considering all the work and commitment they have put in, not only over the course of the season but throughout their entire Moeller careers.
The team competed in eight total indoor meets this season, including the final state meet. They placed 1st overall as a team in three of these meets. At the state championship, Moeller placed 3rd, just below Wayne and Westerville Central, marking the highest finish in school history. Their overall score was 28. They achieved this high score thanks to remarkable individual performances at Spire. There were many highlights during the meet, but the biggest one was the 4x400M relay team becoming state champions! This team included senior Jackson Butler, senior Gavin Barry, senior Dana Walker, and sophomore Trey Webb. Senior Camden Pawlick placed 3rd overall in the shot put with a 52-10”, earning All-Ohio Honors. Senior Christian Stewart finished 6th in the high jump, clearing 6 feet 2 inches. Junior Owen Speed finished 8th in the 1600M run, earning All-Ohio Honors and setting a new PR of 4:22.89. Junior Landen Adams finished 9th in the long jump with a 20-6.5”.
Along with the 4x400 relay, Gavin Barry and Dana Walker displayed their versatility and talent in two other events. Barry achieved a 4th place finish in the 60M hurdles, earning All-Ohio Honors. Walker finished 5th in the state in the 400M dash, earning All-Ohio Honors and setting a new PR of 49.91.
These track athletes deserve credit for all they have accomplished this season. Congratulate each and every one of them if you see them in or out of school. All eight indoor state qualifiers are also on the outdoor team and look to make the biggest possible impact on the program this season, especially the seniors. In addition, congratulations to head coach Frank Russo and all of the track coaches for an unbelievable indoor season, and thank you to all of the seniors who were a part of it this year and in past years. Finally, good luck to all the athletes competing in the 2025 outdoor track season, especially those indoor guys who just completed a highly successful season.
