Moeller Baseball Update

The Moeller Crusaders baseball team started off the season hot, winning 8 of their first 9 games including a no hitter vs Ryle High School (KY) before suffering their first loss of the season to a strong Vally Christian team out of Las Vegas who took the crusaders down 10-7.

The Crusaders then went on to beat St. Xavier, but then drop to the same St Xavier team 2 days later after the Crusaders blow a 7-2 lead in the final inning to end up losing 8-7. Since that game the Crusaders have won 4 in a row and are looking forward to 2 games vs Elder high school on back-to-back days. On 4/30 Moeller faced off against LaSalle with a GCL championship on the line and the Crusaders did not disappoint. Taking the game 11-0 with the help of Conner Cuozzo hitting his 5th bomb of the year a grand slam and going (2-2) with 5 RBIs on the day. Matt Ponatoski recorded the only other extra base hit of the game, going 2-2 with a double.  Zion Theophilus got the complete game shutout, going all 5 innings, only allowing 1 hit and striking out 10. The Crusaders are currently being led by Jake Bell who recently went (3-3) with a double and 3 RBIs on the day which was crucial in taking down a talented Conner (KY) team.

The crusaders look to finish the season strong, as they look forward to playoffs they are hunting that state championship they all desire. Currently ranked #1 in the state and previously ranked top 10 in the whole country, the crusaders definitely have the target on their backs, but they are definitely up for the task and they are built to handle all the pressure that is put on them.
