On November 14th, 2025, Activision released Call of Duty Black Ops 7. When you play Call of Duty Black Ops 7, you’re supposed to complete different objectives depending on the mode you choose. In multiplayer, the goal is to work with your team to win matches by getting eliminations and capturing or defending objectives like flags or hardpoints. In Zombies, you survive as long as possible by fighting waves of zombies, completing challenges, upgrading weapons, and unlocking parts of the map. The campaign mode focuses on following the story by completing missions, defeating enemies, and making choices that affect the plot. In online modes like Rebirth or Battle Royale, the main objective, like any other battle royale, is to survive longer than other players by looting weapons, working with teammates, and being the last team standing. What stands out about Call of Duty’s battle royale though, is the ability to create your own loadout and purchase score streaks, such as UAV’s or precision airstrikes. Cash is used in a number of ways in Rebirth and Battle Royale.

Many players and critics have shared positive feedback about Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, especially praising its core gameplay and multiplayer design. Reviewers note that the multiplayer feels fast, responsive, and refined compared to recent entries, with movement and map design that bring back a more classic Call of Duty feel after years of skill-based matchmaking frustration. Some early impressions from the beta highlighted that intense action, diverse operators, and tight pacing give the game a strong foundation that could keep players engaged. A number of fans have also enjoyed the Zombies mode and appreciate that developers listened to community feedback by adjusting matchmaking systems and offering more open playlists.

However, Black Ops 7 has also faced a lot of negative feedback from the community. User reviews dropped to extremely low levels, making it one of the lowest-rated Call of Duty games according to player scores, with many reviewers calling it the “worst CoD of all time” and criticizing major features like bugs, performance issues, and balance problems. A huge portion of the backlash centers on the campaign, which players describe as short, confusing, and poorly designed, with complaints about forced always-online requirements and chaotic mission structure. Some fans have also expressed frustration over perceived overreliance on AI-generated assets, bugs at launch, and other design decisions that they feel hurt the overall experience.
