Striving for More Wins and Pins

By Toby Hueber

A struggling Moeller Bowling team has started the season at 1-4 but is now gaining momentum, improving their record to 3-5 on the year. The Crusaders were currently on a two-game winning streak against Sycamore and St. Xavier High School and then lost a close one against a competitive Elder team on January 19th.  They are already working hard to prepare for their next games and will be playing a tough one against LaSalle on January 26th. They are looking to split the series at 1-1 against LaSalle and want to show the league they are not giving up and will continue to improve.

Dominic Kwiatkowski is a Junior and one of the top bowlers on the team.  His high score is 219, and he averages 185. His twin brother Luke Kwiatkowski is also one of the top bowlers, with a high score of 224 and an average of 175.  These two players look to keep the Crusaders rolling in the back half of the season.

Varsity Captain Tyler Jones is excited to keep growing as a team and said, “everyone is getting better as a group and individually every game. I’m proud of the work and effort so far, this season”.  Jones shows true leadership skills as a captain by the way he talks about his team, but individually, he is also one of the top performers, and his best personal record is an impressive 211 with an average of 174.

There are seven games left this season before the playoffs start, and this Moeller team will continue to grow and plans to end the season with a bang.  Please come out and support the up-and-coming Moeller team and show your school spirit to root them on. Your spirit will bring the team wins and pins.
